Getty Images just announced that you can search for and embed images on your blog or website. Attribution is automatically credited when you do so, but the benefit (one of them) is that you don’t have to pay for the image. You also don’t have to worry about copyright infringement. Permission to use is already granted.
There are lots of reasons why you might want to embed images. For starters, it can be a lot cheaper. Every image costs something. If you want royalty-free images, you’ll have to pay for them. But royalty-free may not always be necessary.
The primary purpose for using images on your blog is to enhance the content. If you aren’t using the image for selling stuff and you don’t care that the photographer, or the image download site, is credited for the image, then this is a great opportunity. The other option is to search for free public domain images, which can be time consuming.
Here are 5 reasons why you might want to use embedded images on your blog or website.
- To improve your website’s SEO
- To save money on image acquisition
- To enhance your website content without spending a lot of money
- To save time on searching for suitable images
- You don’t want to take photos yourself or buy them
