Whether you are setting up a landing page for a social media campaign, a paid advertising campaign, or organic SEO, you need to make sure its No. 1 priority is converting visitors to sales. That’s the primary purpose for a landing page whether you are selling a product, generating leads, or capturing contact information for a later follow-up.
When it comes to landing pages, there are quite a few elements that you should give your attention to, but the following three elements are absolutely the most important.
- Unique Selling Proposition – You need to state succinctly what sets you apart from your competition. Why should anyone buy from you? If you can’t answer that question, don’t go any further.
- Benefit-oriented Content – Your content is what sells your product or service. Don’t focus on the features. Rather, focus on the benefits. How will your product or service improve the lives of your customers? Make your content benefit-heavy. Images are nice. An attractive design is imperative. But benefits are what sell your prospects on becoming clients and qualified leads.
- Call to Action – Finally, you need a strong call to action. Lead your customers to make a decision, then TELL them what to do. If you want them to opt-in to your newsletter, give them an opt-in form. If you are selling a product, tell them to buy and give them a way to do it. Your call to action is one of the most important elements on the page.
There is more to building a successful landing page than making it pretty. It’s got to sell, and it’s got to close the sale.
